Building the Bowl
Los Angeles, CA • opened 2024
"Building the Bowl: From Dream to Destination" explores the Hollywood Bowl’s first 15 years and tells the stories of the key figures behind its inception.
In 1919, important members of Los Angeles cultural and civic life galvanized around a project to build the first urban open-air performing arts venue in the nation. The exhibit highlights the six eclectic individuals that were instrumental in bringing this cultural project together in Los Angeles in the 1920’s each of whom played a distinctive role in its history.
Developed with Picnic Design. Red Cape Studio was hired to design the physical layout and structures for the exhibition.
