California Academy of Sciences
Steinhart Aquarium
San Francisco, CA • opened 2008
The Steinhart aquarium within the California Academy of Sciences features a four story living rainforest and one of the largest exhibits of live corals in the world.
An enormous variety of living and virtual exhibits allows visitors to explore and discover the diversity that the California Academy seeks to research and protect.
The transition aquarium in downtown San Francisco was designed to house the Academy's living collection and test ideas for inclusion in the new Steinhart Aquarium, then under construction.
